Orange & Clove Pomanders are an easy-peasy Christmas craft that takes a little bit of time to do but smells so wonderful the time will pass in a blink!
Using a whole orange, I stud it with whole cloves using a toothpick to poke a hole, put in the clove, sometimes in patterns, sometimes covering the whole orange, then roll it in a mix of ground cinnamon, nutmeg & mixed spice, keeping the remainder of the spices for your stovetop potpourri.
Pop a ribbon around to hang in a window to catch the breeze, or just sit on top of a pretty glass or make a bowlful!
Once they are dried out, I put them in my kitchen cupboards. Not only does the scent last for years, but it keeps the pests out, too! I have a couple in my Christmas decorations suitcase, and whenever I open it, I am straight in a Christmas mood, though I must admit,with me, that’s pretty much all year round!
